The preserved material can later be examined by a competent authority or authorised examiner, entitled to evaluate the event and determine what the evidence supports, does not support, or leaves unresolved. EVIDE preserves the evidentiary basis for that examination; it does not make the determination itself.

Evidentiary Anchoring

EVIDE preserves independently referenceable evidentiary records for significant application events, digital content, decisions and AI outputs. These records remain external to the originating system, are temporally defined, and can support later independent reconstruction and examination.

AI Governance

For AI governance contexts, EVIDE preserves the declared responsibility and decision context present at formal closure -- including declared authority, classification context, oversight conditions and boundary readiness status -- so that those recorded conditions can remain independently reviewable over time.

Evidentiary Governance Signals

The server-computed evidentiary profile evaluates structured signals relevant to later reconstructability -- including continuity degradation, Decision Wave Compression and Formal Accountability Collapse. These signals describe evidentiary conditions and potential attribution gaps; they do not by themselves determine that the underlying governance process has failed.

AI Agent Access -- MCP

EVIDE is accessible to AI agents through MCP (Model Context Protocol), allowing compatible systems to submit declared evidentiary context for independent preservation after significant application events have occurred, while maintaining a strict separation between execution and the evidentiary layer.

Evidence without forced conclusions

EVIDE does not hide uncertainty to produce a cleaner answer.

What can be supported remains explicit. What remains unresolved stays visible. What cannot be independently verified is not transformed into certainty.

EVIDE does not replace missing evidence with assumptions, nor does it determine conclusions that belong to an authority, auditor, investigator, court, or other competent evaluator.

EVIDE preserves what can be independently examined — including the limits of what can be known.

Evidentiary rigor is not about producing the strongest conclusion. It is about preserving the conditions for an independent conclusion.

From AI agents to human decisions

EVIDE supports machine-originated evidentiary intake through API/MCP and human-originated governance events through Human Structured Intake. Both operate within the same EVIDE evidentiary environment while preserving their distinct origin and context.

EVIDE vs Execution Certification - boundary clarification

Execution systems can document what executed. EVIDE does not certify execution or determine responsibility. It preserves declared responsibility context, referenced gate or boundary conditions, and formal closure state after externalization so that those recorded conditions can be independently examined later.

EVIDE + DAPI can bind verified identity to declared authority and preserved decision context. They do not by themselves establish that the declared authority was legally valid, that a referenced gate was correct, or that the underlying execution complied with its rules.

Operational note: Submission alone does not constitute forensic certification. At intake, EVIDE preserves a timestamped integrity reference, including the recorded fingerprint, for the submitted Declaration or content. FEDIS is a separate forensic certification layer that may be requested later, provided that the material presented for certification matches the originally recorded fingerprint. The legal or evidentiary weight of any record depends on its context and the applicable rules.
